Artificium
Latin American Sci-Fi Anthology (Spanish Edition)
2023
Artificium — Latin American Science Fiction Anthology (Spanish Edition) gathers twenty-one authors and more than thirty stories exploring the complexities of being human in an age of technological transformation. The book traverses speculative, weird, and experimental territories to imagine how today’s technologies may shape tomorrow’s consciousness.
Artificium is a collaborative literary project forged within the science fiction narrative workshops led by Venezuelan author José Urriola. The anthology serves as a multidimensional artifact—part storytelling, part experiment in language and technology.
The prologue by Luis Miguel Isava situates the collection within the contemporary literary landscape, reflecting on what it means to be human in a time of accelerating change.
I participated as both author and visual designer, contributing a triptych on hybrid consciousness and a visual essay on human-machine creative convergence. Each story is accompanied by illustrations I generated in collaboration with an A.I. model—an experiment that deepened my inquiry into how language and computation shape perception and creativity.

Challenge
The goal was to create a cohesive visual and editorial identity for a complex, multi-author anthology that merged literature, philosophy, and technology. The design had to honor the individual voices of twenty-one writers while uniting them under a single speculative aesthetic that reflected the book’s themes of hybridization and transformation.
Solution
I designed a full-color hardcover and e-book edition, integrating textual and visual narratives into a seamless reading experience. The hybrid illustrations—co-created with an A.I. model—function as portals connecting the human imagination to algorithmic aesthetics. The result is both a literary artifact and a visual experiment, bridging creative collaboration between human and machine.
