Strategic Advisory and Digital Platform Redesign

Since 2021

Since 2021, I have been collaborating with the Confederation of Independent Psychoanalytic Societies (CIPS) to maximize its digital platform and improve the user experience for its more than 600 members across the United States. The project focuses on strengthening internal operations and enhancing how the organization communicates, educates, and connects through virtual environments.

Founded in 1992, CIPS represents the interests of psychoanalysts belonging to independent component societies of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) in the United States. Historically, CIPS operated within an analog tradition—offering in-person conferences, symposia, and workshops.

The global shift toward virtualization in 2020 required the organization to redefine the role of its digital assets, rethinking how its website and communication channels could serve as a comprehensive online hub for members.

CIPS leaders engaged me as a strategic creative advisor to guide this transition, ensuring that the organization’s brand and digital infrastructure met the standards of the contemporary psychoanalytic community.

Challenge

CIPS needed to evolve from a primarily in-person organization to a digitally fluent institution capable of supporting members, education, and collaboration online. The challenge was to unify diverse needs—continuing education, membership management, payments, and communications—within a single intuitive and visually coherent platform.

Solution

I led the redesign and optimization of the CIPS website, transforming it into a responsive and user-centered digital hub. Key improvements included:

  • A redesigned information architecture to simplify navigation and clarify access to core institutional resources.

  • Integration of a secure online payment system for membership dues and event registrations.

  • Development of a dynamic membership directory searchable by name, city, and affiliation, facilitating professional networking.

  • Streamlined access to continuing education programs and editorial services through interactive pages and intuitive navigation.

  • Implementation of a responsive framework ensuring usability across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

  • Coordination with internal teams for content migration, visual consistency, and accessibility compliance.

The resulting platform combines institutional reliability with modern usability—offering members an engaging and efficient digital experience.

Results

  • Transformed the CIPS website into a fully responsive, member-centered platform.
  • Simplified access to membership benefits and continuing education.
  • Improved administrative efficiency through secure payment and directory systems.
  • Enhanced brand visibility and cohesion across all digital channels.
  • Established CIPS as a benchmark for digital transformation among psychoanalytic organizations in the U.S.
