The L.J. Gould Center

For Organizational Psychoanalytic Studies and Consultation

2018

In 2018, I was commissioned by The L.J. Gould Center for Organizational Psychoanalytic Studies and Consultation to develop its professional brand identity and outreach materials. The goal was to establish a cohesive visual and strategic foundation that would communicate the Center’s mission within the psychoanalytic and organizational consulting communities.

The L.J. Gould Center is dedicated to the study and application of psychoanalytic theory to organizational life, drawing from the works of Freud, Klein, and particularly Wilfred Bion’s contributions on group dynamics.

Named after Laurence J. Gould, Ph.D., FIPA—a distinguished psychoanalyst, psychologist, and organizational consultant—the Center honors his legacy as one of the founders of the International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations (ISPSO) and a pioneer in integrating psychoanalytic insight into group and institutional processes.

My work focused on translating this intellectual and clinical depth into a clear, credible, and contemporary brand system.

Services provided

  • Design and Development of Professional Branding
  • Strategic Advisory for Marketing and Outreach
  • Design and Production of Ads and Promotional Campaigns

Challenge

The Center’s challenge was to differentiate itself within the psychoanalytic field by articulating its unique focus on organizational and group processes. The brand needed to convey intellectual rigor while remaining accessible to institutions, practitioners, and professionals seeking psychoanalytic consultation.

Solution

I developed a professional brand identity that reflected the Center’s dual nature—academic and applied. The visual language combined restraint and precision, symbolizing depth of analysis and clarity of thought. Alongside the design system, I provided strategic marketing and outreach guidance to position the Center as a reference in the intersection of psychoanalysis, leadership, and organizational development.

Results

  • Delivered a cohesive brand system aligned with the Center’s psychoanalytic and organizational mission.
  • Strengthened its visibility and recognition among professional networks.
  • Established a foundation for future communication and educational initiatives under a unified visual identity.
